Shiran Victoria Shen Secures Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award


Assistant Professor Shiran Victoria Shen has received the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award from the Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU). Shen was selected as one of only 36 awardees selected from 172 applications from 94 member institutions.

The Ralph E. Powe awards are competitive research awards that provide seed money for junior faculty members that often result in additional funding from other sources. The award amount provided by ORAU is $5,000 with a matching grant from WashU. Eligible research topics must fall within one of five disciplines: Engineering and Applied Science, Life Sciences, Mathematics/Computer Sciences, Physical Sciences, or Policy, Management, or Education.
